What Their Goals Were

Save the Redwoods League hoped to generate more email leads from people interested in the redwood forests by asking users to sign up for a free travel guide. Through the email list, Save the Redwoods League would be able to keep their audience up to date about their efforts and fundraise to support their mission.

Our Custom Google Ad Grant Strategy

Keyword Research

Our goal was to identify popular terms and phrases that users were searching for on Google and turn them into a comprehensive list of keywords to target with our ads. We started by gathering fact-based keywords, including the names of different redwood species. To capture the target audience for the organization’s free travel guides, we also chose keywords related to visiting the California redwoods.

Ad Creation

Our next step was to build out a well-organized campaign. Using our keyword research findings, we crafted ads with highly relevant headlines and bold calls-to-action that would target what real users were searching for. Concise, punchy descriptions gave context about the redwood forests while also promoting the organization’s free travel guide. As a result, many of our ads ranked ahead of organic results and brought in hundreds of email leads each month.

Our Results

On average, we were generating 400+ emails per month directly from the Google Grant ads. This didn’t include traffic that came via an ad and could have returned later to download the guide.
With a specialized Google Ads strategy, Save The Redwoods was able to grow their email list with relevant users that they can develop into supporters in the future.
