YouTube Nonprofit Program: Storytelling through Videos

Tools to help you share your charity’s story online.

Every charity has a compelling story. A story that pulls on the heart strings. A story that garners public attention. A story that galvanizes people to take action. However, there’s always a problem with getting the word out and sharing this story with the world.
The YouTube Nonprofit Program can help you with this problem. Online videos are a powerful medium with an ever growing user base. By capturing your charity’s story in a YouTube video, your message can be easily shared with people all over the internet. Your compelling story can now reach more and more potential volunteers, supporters, and donors who are all YouTube viewers. These YouTube videos can help you raise funds and create change. Here is your chance! Tell us your story!
Here’s a quick overview of the program’s features:
Channel branding
Branding is a big part of presenting your organization to the public. The program’s tools and features allow your charity to create custom thumbnails, logo avatars, and backgrounds to craft a YouTube channel that is consistent with your organization’s branding and public image. On top of having creative control over the video’s content, using these personalization features your nonprofit now has control over the video’s presentation as well.
Donate button
Just like on your website, a well placed donate button can draw people into making a donation. Using the YouTube Nonprofit Program, you can now place a donate button right alongside your YouTube videos. Instead of having to lead viewers back to your website to make their monetary contribution you can now accept online donations right from your YouTube channel.
Live streaming
Galas, picnics, fundraisers, conferences, and live reporting. Whatever the occasion, a live video feed of the festivities can be streamed directly to viewers of your charity’s YouTube channel. Live events are converted into digital content for the consumption of online viewers. This feature helps enrich your channel with relevant and engaging content for those who are following your story online.
Call to Action overlays
Create and place call to action messages on screen while your videos are playing. These quick messages can draw viewers into clicking on the link you have provided. The links can bring your viewers to specific landing pages on your website where they can be given additional information about your cause, make an online donation, register for an event, signup for an newsletter, or volunteer their time.
Video annotations
Annotations look like speech bubbles that you can embed into your videos. They can be used to provide commentary throughout the video, ask viewers to subscribe to your channel, and used as an additional method of driving traffic to your website by placing a link in the annotation.
Community forum
The program gives you access to a forum where you may connect with fellow nonprofits also using the YouTube Nonprofit Program so that you can gather some best practices from your peers. There is also the opportunity to get advice from professionals in the online video/digital marketing business who can help you tap into the full potential of this free program.

About Conversion Tracking

What is a conversion?

A conversion is defined as any action a user takes on your website that you deem valuable. For some, this is a donation, for others it’s a registration.

Why track conversions?

Tracking conversions is essential to the success of any digital marketing effort. If you don’t understand what actions are leading to growing your impact, you can’t effectively make the right decision to optimize for them.

How we track conversions

Our team will install and implement platforms such as Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track and assess these metrics. Our best practices with this valuable data enables us to optimally manage your account.

The Role Of Your Account Manager

What is an Account Manager?

Each one of our clients is matched with a Dedicated Account Manager (AM), who is both your digital marketing expert and main point-of-contact.

What is their expertise?

Upon joining ConnectAd, all AMs go through an extensive training & certification program before managing nonprofit accounts. Additionally, AMs go through further training each week as part of our culture of learning so that they can continue to develop their skill set.

As a result, AMs become proficient in multiple areas of digital marketing to the benefit of our clients.
